Existing bagging post at Retrofit with new Siemens controller for DSM Specialty Compounds in Genk
The customer asked us to convert an existing bagging post. This filling device was mechanically still working, but the controller and weighing electronics were not available anymore. The machine is used to fill bags up to 25 kg in a calibrated way. Moreover, octabins of 1,000 kg are regularly filled in 40 stages.
We chose to rebuild the device with a new Siemens controller with Siwarex weighing electronics. In the past, we already realized some projects for this customer with those controllers. The Siemens operation and controller excel in their solidity and reliability.
Subsequently, we built a custom control cabinet in our workshop and we executed the installation on site, in a very short time. Therefore, the time the machine was not in production was very minimized. During the installation, we also replaced some mechanical components and the load cells.
The machine with new weighing electronics was calibrated as AWI OIML R61, by our in-house technicians.
Finally, the complete technical file is presented, consisting of electrical schemes, detailed manuals, program manual, back-ups of the software, CE conformity certificates, …
